    Grade the Season

I probably should wait a week for this poll, to give us a more balanced perspective ... but I'd rather not wait.

    Re: Grade the Season

Are we grading the entire season as a whole? Or how we finished?

As a whole = B (the preseason was hard to watch, along with the Big XII tourney)

    How we finished = A+

    A+

Been waiting 10 years for this team and coach to come along. Now I can forget the Morgan and McD years and rest in peace knowing that ISU basketball is in truly good hands.

    Re: Grade the Season

B plus. Early season losses and Texas loss in the tourney hurt our seeding in NCAA. Otherwise I think we get at least on more win before facing a one or two.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Entire season ... "full body of work," as they say.

Solid A. You would have to be high to expect these kinds of results in year two of an almost total rebuild.

    Re: Grade the Season

I gave an A as well. Whoever gave a B must have been expecting a lot before the season started.

Edit: I see who it was now.

    Re: Grade the Season

    Mine's A-minus (teetering between that and B-plus).

Non-conference season was middling. Wasn't awful, but probably kept ISU from 7 seed area.

Exceeded my expectation as far as how much quality depth and teamwork Hoiberg developed, conference record and, as hard as that UK game was to absorb, that UConn beatdown was impressive.

    Re: Grade the Season

    A-.
If we had played our best game yesterday (hitting our threes) and still lost, I would have given us an A.
If we would have won yesterday, A+.
Overall, it was a fantastic season and I can't wait for next year!

    Re: Grade the Season

If someone asked this two years a ago it is an A+. I'm giving it and A+ from the perspective of how outrageous it is that we have this talented a team in year two of Hoiberg's tenure.

I'd give it an A- from the perspective of asking it before the season. Sweet 16 would've gotten an A. Screw our terrible unlucky draw.

    Re: Grade the Season

It'd be an A, except for getting bounced first round of Big 12 tourney. We really should be contending for the Big 12 championship and it took awhile to gel in non-conf, bad games against Mich, Drake, UNI, MVSU brought the grade down IMO to A- or B+. we dominated expectations but room to get even better. Strong showing in the big dance with a tough draw and some real special wins against big 12 foes in conf play

That draw is looking more and more unfortunate as the tournament continues, and seeing the teams play.

That game had the feel of at least a regional semifinal, possibly close to Elite 8 matchup.

I think only two teams that remain, UK (obviously) and UNC would be able to thrash ISU. I'd give us no less than a fighting chance against everyone else, and an advantage in most of those situations.

It's a 4 or 5 seed that ended up as an 8. Didn't do quite enough to deserve a better seeding.
