These lane violation calls need to stop

I just saw one that could have changed the ND/Xavier game right at the end, and obviously this isn't the only time its been called this tournament. I don't care if its technically right or not, they shouldn't be calling it like they are. They haven't been calling these anywhere all season so I don't know if many players they can't do it. Really a load of crap.

Nobody paid money to watch the officials. They need to quit making themselves the center of attention.

It's not a good addition to the game at this late stage.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

Unless you can come up with times they aren't calling it during the season, you might be full of crap. Blame it on the coaches for not teaching simple rules, or players for not remembering simple rules.

I disagree. That rule is a good one. The player outside of the three point line is almost impossible to account for.

Anyone else get the feeling the refs got together before the tournament and dusted off some weird rules to start enforcing all of a sudden?

Re: These lane violation calls need to stop

Charles Barkley just gave his opinion on refs taking advantage of the game. He wants it to stop.

ďI told you, I donít care if youíre black or white. I donít care if youíre rich or poor. I donít care where you come from, whether itís Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I donít care about any of thatÖ But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

Watch every single free throw attempt this year and I will show you "technically" a lane violation. I'm not saying it's not a rule, but why hasn't it been enforced all season?

When's the last time this season you've seen them call a lane violation this season for crossing the 3 pt line? I've watched a ton of basketball and haven't seen any. Lane violations are pretty rare to start

Why can't the players just stand still? Problem solved.

The Notre Dame one wasn't called on the guy outside the 3 point line. He clearly pointed at the guy in the lane. It was not a violation on him. Poor call that changed the game.
