Yahoo NBA writer on Fred Hoiberg

Adrian Wojnarwoski is probably the top writer going for the NBA right now and this is what he just tweeted:

"There'll be one coach in that Kentucky-Iowa State game w/ the right temperament and disposition to return to the NBA. And it isn't UK's."

I hope not. But if it does happen, I'll cry.

I hate the NBA and most of the coaches are glorified administrators.

I guess beating a hall of fame coach and defending national champion in the tournament is off Freddie's bucket list.

Could Freddie be an NBA coach? Absolutely. But I don't think he'll go any time soon. What more could he want? He is a Legend in Ames and for Cyclone fans everywhere.

After our Sixth National Title Fred should feel free to go to the NBA.

If Hoiberg wanted an NBA coaching job he could probably get hired today. I think he likes where he is at!

His twins are in 2nd or 3rd grade. I think he wants them to grow up in Ames.

He's not going anywhere except moving to the Jake to be the AD if the opportunity arises.

That would be awesome, after he wins a bunch B12 and a few Final 4's

Fred's still close to Tim Floyd, right? I wonder if Floyd would advise against it, given his experiences.

I really don't understand the allure of being an NBA coach. Do they make that much more money compared to the college game? There's a handful of Phil Jacksons and Greg Popavichs, but it seems like the overwhelming majority of NBA coaches are only with a team for a few years before they're ignominiously tossed out with the trash. What's so great about that? Same deal with the NFL.
