Maybe a pitcher somewhere is throwing a no hitter in the 4th inning you could tell us about?

    Re: UNC-Asheville

I had my computers classes create comparative spreadsheets looking at each matchup in the tourney. UNC Asheville was "favored" statistically according to my class. That was really the only shocking upset. We put the games on today while we were in class and the kids really liked watching UNC Asheville and Syracuse just because they felt like they had predicted it. I think 1 or two of them wrote in the upset on ESPN also.

What was the basis for this? Just curious

Figuring out a way to watch the NCAA tournament while teaching a class.....BRILLIANT!

It was our first lesson in Excel. So it was a good way to get them to get used to entering data for one. I thought it was a great way to get them interested in entering data and interested in spreadsheets. It also crossed over into another subject (math) so it helps a lot of the kids draw correlations to stuff they might have learned just a few hours earlier.

Instead of typing in the averages and totals, they used the basic formulas. I wasnt planning on it landing on the beginning of March Madness, but when I saw that they coincided, I thought I would use it to my advantage. My computer classes are at the end of the day, so by that time a lot of the kids are tired of school and pretty restless, so to be able to tie basketball and sports into what we are doing in class, it got a lot of them excited. Heck, even the "non jocks" really got into this assignment.

Absolutely unreal. I'm not a fan of blaming to officiating, but that was absolute horse ****. The officials literally gave this game to Syracuse. Hate watching kids that play with that much passion lose, and lose like that. Unbelievable.
