NCAA Pool - different than Brackets

I got asked to be in a NCAA pool this year. It's different than a bracket and it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Was wondering if anyone does/has done anything similar. Here are the rules for this pool:

The TOP 25 rankings will be determined from the March 6th - USA TODAY SPORTS PAGE.
    Teams ranked 1-5 = 1 point teams
    Teams ranked 6-10 = 2 point teams
    Teams ranked 11-15 = 3 point teams
    Teams ranked 16-20 = 4 point teams
    Teams ranked 21-25 = 5 point teams
ANY team not ranked in the top 25, but appears in the 68 team field as selected by the NCAA TOURNAMENT COMMITEE becomes a 6 point team.

    SCORING
The points earned with each teams victory = that teams value (1-6) multiplied by the round number.
** Example: Florida is a 5 point team. If they win their first round game, they would accumulate 5 points. (5 x 1) If they win their second round game they would earn 10 points. (5 x 2) Florida would have earned 15 points through two rounds. (5 + 10)
Each player accumulates points for all ten teams over the course of the tournament as long as they continue to win.

You get to pick 10 teams. Who would you pick?

I guess my strategy would be to go with good value teams that can score you a lot of points by only winning 2 games rather than 4-5 games. Kentucky is the only exception because the other top seeds in our bracket are weak, and I think they have a great chance at the Final 4. Temple, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Wichita State, and Vanderbilt are good values because I expect at least three of them to make the Sweet 16 with one of them making the Elite 8. Kansas and Ohio State are picks because they both fall outside the Top 5, but are just as likely to make the final 4 or championship as a Michigan State, Mizzou, or Syracuse.

    Temple
    New Mexico
    Vanderbilt
    Louisville
    Kentucky
    Ohio State
    Kansas
    Florida State
    Wichita State
    Wisconsin

Yeah I did that. I played a team from each top and bottom of each bracket (2 per 16) and then picked two long shots that we thought had a good chance of making some noise.

    Don't pick Iowa. You're welcome.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

Sounds interesting, and would require a bit of thought.

Of course, you have time now that your country is controlled by Austrians.

My friends and I did a fantasy style draft a couple years back. $25 each and 1st got all $100. 16 teams each person.

The scoring was seed x round #. So you had a bunch of 3 and 4 seeds go right away. Needless to say the guy who had Butler won it.
