What if Kentucky was the first #1 seed to lose first round?

Not probable, but if it did, how far would we go?

Sweet Sixteen? I think we could take Indiana.

    Elite Eight? Duke?

ISU v. MVSU in the third round would be hilarious and fun.

We can do it. If we do, the matchups are very nice.

UK doesn't play in the first round.

I'm starting to see a lot of wild speculation and looking way ahead similar to what was going on around here before ISU faced Texas in the Big 12 Tournament. One guy even posted repeatedly that Texas "didn't have a chance". (I assume the MOD's banned that joker.) That turned out well. This team could get beat by anyone if they play a stinker. In the tourney, they won't necessarily have to have a stinker to get beat.

No chicken counting on my part. I will just take every win from here on out as gravy.

Re: What if Kentucky was the first #1 seed to lose first round?

I'm still solidly convinced that ISU will be the first and only team to ever lose as a #1 seed in the tournament. I'm sure the Sports Gods are still holding that reservation for us. It's why it hasn't happened yet and I've seen too mcuh crazy **** in the 35 years I've been an ISU fan to think different. It's the one thing that scares the **** out of me about ISU ever becoming great at Basketball. Kind of , kind of not.

What if 60 of the 68 teams were decimated by Spanish Flu, how far would we go? I say Final Four, losing to a surprisingly disease resistant Iona club.

Re: What if Kentucky was the first #1 seed to lose first round?

First off, Kentucky doesn't play in the first round as pointed out and as far as the possibility of UK losing to any 16 seed in the 2nd is well...basically impossible as this point until college basketball actually sees it happen. 0% chance.

So you're saying the only way we make it past the second round is if Kentucky loses first round? It's almost like you're saying that ISU no chance against Kentucky.

Since the UK game is before us we would be all giddy to play mvsu and then we would lose to UCONN
