    Good Whiskey

I like my whiskey from time to time. Was shopping at Hyvee and bought some Makers Mark on sale for $24. That's a nice whisky and a nice price. What amazes me is how expensive Knob Creek and some of the other Kentucky Whiskey's have gotten. $40 for a bottle? No thank you.

    Re: Good Whiskey

Must agree. Have been drinking some of this the past several months (the Makers Mark, that is).
Just this past month I received some Templeton from my wife (b-day gift). Have only had a little as I am saving it for more special occasions, as it is the real stuff.

Georgia moonshine whiskey. Taped on label on a mason jar, although after the Tammy info, don't know if I can come close to it.

Love Makers. That is really cheap for it.

"the good stuff" Templeton is very tough to beat on the rocks with a splash of lime or 7-up

Do you work for Hy-Vee and/or Maker's Mark?

    Re: Good Whiskey

I also enjoy me some Crown Black. Also if you want something on the rocks that is a little sweeter I like Jack Daniels Honey.

Crown Black is indeed great and worth the extra 5 over Crown, but spend an additional 15 and get crown reserve, AMAZING.

No on both counts. Just have a Hy Vee store up here that has good selection and prices and the manager is a good egg.

Just not that big of fan of that stuff. I prefer Crown Royal over Templeton when drank that way.

What size Maker's? That could be a really good deal.

If you want something that makes Makers comparatively crappy try you some pappy van winkle IF you can get your hands on it.

    Re: Good Whiskey

I firmly believe in buying American. We have 3 Jeeps and a Ford pickup. But when it comes to whiskey, I buy mine from the Scots !!!
