If you had to go to another college in Iowa...

where would you go? Here are your requirements:
    -Iowa State is out.
-The kid played on the line in WDM somewhere, not sure where, and would like to play football in college.
-Has a good IT program, more CIS or Comp Sci rather than MIS.

His Mom was asking me since I'm IT, but I am MIS and would look nowhere but ISU. They already have a visit to Iowa St planned. The good news is that they are Iowa fans and Dad hates that his son may go to ISU, but he will come around.

They don't appear to have football. But I will let them know.

    No football team there

Purely by the football aspect I would say Coe College in CR and Central College in Pella would be two decent bets if he wants to play and compete at a high level of his division.

I talked about them, but am not sure of their Comp Sci programs or cost. I'm sure they can do that research.

I would go to a small college. I loved the big college experience, but often wonder what a small college would be like. Probably would enjoy that too.

Tell him to give up on Football. I may be in the minority in saying that, but I've seen a lot of people ruined by playing sports at some unaccredited small private college in Iowa or Nebraska.

Getting a good education is incredibly important. Being a walkon at ******* Baptist Technical doesn't really help that much in the long run.

Don't forget about Wartburg. This may be somewhat dated, but somewhat recently I read it. Over the last 50 years, Central has the best record in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, but over the last 10-12 years, Wartburg does. Coe has been strong as well, but not as strong as the other 2. When it comes to overall athletics, no other small school in the state holds a candle to Wartburg.
I wouldn't trade my playing days there for anything.

Also, they have a very good Computer Science program.
Pretty proud of my alma mater

What small private colleges in Iowa are unaccredited? I'm pretty sure University of Dubuque got theirs back and they were the only one I was aware of that lost theirs.

What about Buena Vista in Storm Lake or Drake? They both have computer science available and are both great schools.

I knew some guys in high school that went to some in Nebraska. I don't remember the name, and it's been over 10 years.

My point was that good education >>> "college" sports
