Ghostbuster Remake needs to be done

I saw Ghost Busters on tv a couple weeks ago and got me thinking about how awesome the Stay Puff Marshmallow man in the movie was.

Anyway i'm only 26 but I think this would be a great movie to be redone since it's been quite a while since the movie came out. I thought it would be cool if they could redo the movie and have cameo's by the original cast in the movie. Of course only if they do it well like unlike the last superman movie and get a good director and screenplay.

Anyway anyone else think this would be an awesome idea?

Nope, keep the classics classic. No one will ever beat Bill Murray, so they shouldn't try.

No. Nobody could play those roles and pull it off anywhere neer as good as the originals. Plus you just said the original is good still so why remake it.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Do original things. Classics are classics, and they're fine the way they are.

I'd be up for watching a remake, especially with today's special effects technology.

Redo it because it's been so long since the movie came out and we could see the ghostbusters with new technology like a better car, better graphics and better equipment. It would'nt be as good as the original because of the cast but it would still be fun to see.

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was kind of remade in Shrek 2.

Dan Aykroyd Drops Significant Ghostbusters 3 Details

    Source: Dennis Miller Radio
    August 25, 2011

After years of rumors, it appears that Ghostbuster 3 is finally moving forward and will likely do so with or without Bill Murray's involvement. Dan Aykroyd appeared on The Dennis Miller Show to discuss the project, dropping specific details about the sequel, hinting that the plan is to film in Spring of 2012 no matter what happens casting-wise.

"Yes, we will be doing the movie and hopefully with Mr. Murray," he says, "That is our hope. We have an excellent ******. What we have to remember is that 'Ghostbusters' is bigger than any one component, although Billy was absolutely the lead and contributive to it in a massive way, as was the director and Harold [Ramis], myself and Sigourney [Weaver]. The concept is much larger than any individual role and the promise of 'Ghostbusters 3' is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood."

The comedian also confirmed reports that the plot will revolve around a new generation of Ghostbusters and hinted at the states of his and Ramis' characters.

"My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can't drive the cadillac," he says, "He's got a bad knee and can't carry the packs... Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that's the promise. We're gonna hand it to a new generation."

As for who might be cast as the new characters, Aykroyd says that, while no decision has been made, he does have a fondness for one piece of prospective casting.

"I like this guy Matthew Gray Gubler from the 'Criminal Minds' show," he adds, "But there's going to be a casting. We're going to see everyone that wants to do it. We're going to need... three guys and a young woman."

Check back soon for more details on Ghostbuster 3 as they develop.

A better car? Really? Having a POS car was the whole point. They had no money and bought what they could afford. Better that car than some POS Taurus wagon. And a new logo? really? The banned ghost logo is iconic - even kids 25 years later know what that means.

Essentially, you want to ruin a classic. Boo this man!

It would turn Ghostbusters from a witty comedy to a CGI Ghost Fighting show.

If it happens, it sounds like it won't be with Bill Murray.
