He wore his shorts backwards in a B12 game once. Therefore gives him open credit to analyze everyone correctly. BTW I'm loving the Musberger/Coach Knight Combo-Gettin me amped for some football!

What he says can impact recruiting in a good or bad way. We want him to say positive comments regarding ISU therefore you have to understand our passion when someone with power in a major media outlet talks about ISU...

Additionally he dissed Royce about his anxiety disorder and Royce wasn't happy about it. I'll stand behind our player.

Re: why is there a near religous fervor with Goatlibb?

Depending on one's perspective, I suppose you can look at it three ways...why do ISU fans get wound up when Gottlieb is condescending or biased against ISU...or...why are there not more ISU fans upset when Gottlieb uses his national stage to be condescending or biased against ISU...or...you don't care either way (anyone that has posted in any Gottlieb thread on either side is obviously excluded form the third point of view.)

Because he is the Anti-******. All his followers have 666 tattooed onto their foreheads.

The "Goatlibb" in the post title is the primary clue.

Re: why is there a near religous fervor with Goatlibb?

Quite simply, he peed in the cardinal-colored Kool-Aid with his opinions and some fans don't know how to deal with it with maturity.

The bottom line is ISU basketball has sucked for most of the last decade. Suddenly midway through a season ISU basketball starts showing some signs of life and the national media is suddenly supposed to just completely forget about a decade of suck and 100% buy in, legitimate concerns or questions be damned.

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

His tweets during the Kansas game in Ames is what set people off. I bet if you asked Bill Self and the Kansas players after that game they wouldn't say ISU's defense is a bunch of guys standing around waving their hands. I highly doubt Bill Self or most Kansas fans would call their squad this year the least talented Kansas team in recent memory either. When a so called "expert" has to go that far over the top to try and minimize the success that ISU was having this season he deserves to be criticized. Then he poured gas on the fire with his rants about Royce and his anxiety disorder. The guy is a dick.
