    Pollards stock is sky high

With the great coaching hires and the resulting successes in MBB and Football, any one else worried about other schools courting Pollard?

Never worried about this. I'd love him to continue his career here, but if a bigger school calls and he wants to move on, all the best to him. It's part of a career.

Re: Pollards stock is sky high

I would tend to agree that Pollard's stock is probably climbing. Most people can see that ISU athletics is moving in a very good direction and Pollard has hired the two coaches responsible. He's done a very good job, and that's coming from someone that was pretty unimpressed after Chizik and Gmac.

Re: Pollards stock is sky high

I have a colleague who is a HOF swimmer at Minnesota and is on the search committee for Minnesota's new AD. I keep trying to see where they're at in the search, without making it obvious that I am really only interested in whether they're looking at Pollard.

I dont' think Pollard would leave, but the Athletic budget of a B10 school would probably be pretty appealing to anybody.

I'd rather have a hot commodity because he is killing it than a lame duck content with floating by.

I would be very worried if DMACC came calling. Other than that, he is here to stay.

Re: Pollards stock is sky high

I would personally think eventually a conference commissioner. But I think his kids are a strong draw to keep him here.

Also, despite his initial experience at Wisconsin, I don't see him fitting the B1G culture.

    Found a nice short interview:
A conversation with… Jamie Pollard, Director of Athletics, Iowa State University. | Iowa Food and Family Project

May my postings be polite and not misunderstood. (And hopefully funny on occasion.)

Re: Pollards stock is sky high

I don't think he would leave either, and I haven't heard of anyone talking to him. He's done such a good job here in the last couple of years that I think he would be in line for a nice pay increase.

As long as we can keep emailing him I don't care where he is.
