Teams We Want to Lose This Week

Since seeding is all relative, the one factor that hasn't been talked about much on CF (at least that I have seen) relates to the teams ahead of us on the S-Curve.

If we are to move out of the dreaded 8 - 9 game and into the 5 - 7 range, I think we need the team's ahead of us to lose - the worse the loss the better - while we win a few games. So, I think we need to cheer against Gonzaga, Louisville, Notre Dame, New Mexico among others. If these teams lose quickly, I think we can improve our seeding with only a win or two in the Big 12 Tourney.

Who else do we have a legitimate opportunity to leapfrog over the course of Championship Week?

Re: Teams We Want to Lose This Week

Gonzaga and St. Mary's play each other tonight for the WCC championship. Unless we win 2+ in the Big 12 tourney, I think we are behind at least one of those teams.

Notre Dame plays the winner of (Nova vs. Rutgers) vs. USF.

Louisville plays winner of Providence vs. Seton Hall.

*Cincinnati plays the winner of (Pitt vs. St. John's) vs. Georgetown.

*San Diego St. plays B1G like foe Boise State.

    New Mexico plays Air Force.

    *UNLV plays Wyoming.

    *also think we can pass

Re: Teams We Want to Lose This Week

I really wouldn't put too much weight right now in saying that we are a ___ seed. We are mostly basing this off of Lunardi, and based off of other things I saw in the bracket, the guy is missing the mark on a lot of things. I'd honestly say that we are a 7 or even a 6 right now.

We have to get out of the 8-9 seed so win our games and get into the 4-5 range.

Exactly! And 22-9 in the Big 12 is a lot more impressive than 22-9 in the SEC.

    Florida
    SOS: 37
    RPI: 29
    Record vs. 1-25: 1-4
    26-50: 2-1
    51-75: 2-2
    76-100: 3-0
    101-200: 10-2
    201+: 4-0
    Jerseys say Florida

    Iowa State
    SOS: 35
    RPI: 30
    1-25: 2-5
    26-50: 2-0
    51-75: 1-2
    76-100: 0-0
    101-200: 10-2
    201+: 7-0

They have a one more win in the top 100 but other than that I don't see the diffence.
Didn't see this before but we have one more top 50 win then Florida does.
