    Phoenix, AZ

I am visiting Phoenix, AZ this weekend for work. Do you have any suggestion on where to go for fun and good place eat? I am staying in downtown Sheraton. I just got arena tix to see Suns play Grizz, so I am pumped!

Thanks for your help in advance.

I second this. I was out there about 10 years ago and wandered over to a spring training game. I was walking in about the 4th inning when i noticed a man with a little entourage was leaving and they walked right past me. It was Muhammed Ali. I stood there in complete shock for a minute.

Completely agree. Great atmosphere and typically wonderful weather. You can get right up next to the action and chat it up with other fans. This is always on my calendar

Yep, you're in perfect time for spring training.

If you're in good shape, hike Camelback or Piestewa (Squaw) Peak.

Renaissance festival going on out towards Apache Junction.

The Ostrich Festival is going on this weekend in the SE valley.

My two favorite restaurants are in Scottsdale, which is a little ways from downtown. Saporro is a great trendy atmosphere with great sushi. Secondly, Oreganos is one of my favorite pizza places period down there and is a fun atmosphere also. If you are looking for an Iowa flavor, the Sand Bar should still have some ISU stuff. Yes, I know that they are also a Hawk bar, and even more so than an ISU bar, but their owner is a big Cyclone fan and graduate. He just likes taking the hawks money is all.

There's an Oregano's in Tempe, as well. I recommend the "Alfredo the Dark." Shredded chicken fettucine/w jalapenos. Yum.

This will be the first year I've missed Cactus League action in 15 years. Thanks for reminding me, jerks.

    Re: Phoenix, AZ

I can't say I enjoy the city of Phoenix, outside of the winter-time weather. I love getting outside of the city though - south to Sabino Canyon near Tucson, or north to Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona. Scottsdale is ok, I guess.

If Cooper'sTown is still there and you like BBQ and Alice Cooper, check it out.

Cibo downtown Phx is awesome. Ive been in the wine and spirits business for 10 years and that was one of my accounts. It's in an old house. Great atmosphere and even better pizza
