    Beer Rating

Best Canned Beers to Drink Now - Yahoo! Shopping
It's been 75 years since the world saw its first beer can. Now, led by can-only breweries, we're seeing a renaissance for brews that are colder, brighter, and just plain more refreshing. Here are 9 beers that prove that.
    Any opinions?

    Re: Beer Rating

Surly Cynic is not close to Surly's best beer.. Give me Abrasive, Wet, or Furious any day.

    Great canned beer, though.

Dale's is alright. I think living 5 minutes from it makes it kind of wear on you, though. It's shoved at you almost.

But they are right, they did the canning thing right - and before almost everyone. It has caught on.

In fact, if you go to Oscar Blues, they don't have any beers in bottles. Only cans. Like 50 beers on tap and I believe Coors Lt might be the only "domestic" that they have.

Canning is actually superior in maintaining the quality/freshness of the beer, there's just a stigma against cans for some reason.

Bottles are a much better weapon when backed into a corner.

I think its people's physical preference of drinking out of a bottle versus a can. If they are both poured into a glass it obviously makes no difference. Also I suppose, it has to do with 'higher end' beers much more commonly being in bottles than cans so people have a perception based on the type of beer they have had out of a bottle or can.

I don't know, I could do some damage with a 12 pack of unopened cans.

All Surly beers are great, but cynic is one of my least favorite of the bunch. I'm a Bender, Furious, Coffee Bender drinker. In that order.

Abrasive is one of the best I've ever had.

To the OP, that article is probably 5 years old, they've had that same article up many times.

21st Amendment brewery cans some great beer. Artwork on their cans is cool, too.

    Re: Beer Rating

I used to pay close attention to what "experts" rated beers. Beer rating is so much about personal preference. It isn't like rating a Nail Gun or Vacuum cleaner. Eveyone has different tastes and I think people put far too much merit into these ratings and contest Medal winners.

Just drink what you like! That's all thats to it.

Always break the bottle pulling up against the bottom of the table. Keeps glass from getting in your eyes.

    Indeed. Love Ska Brewing.

Canned is definitely better. I'd love to see the local guys start in on it. I heard Olde Main might be moving that direction soon, and Great River out of Davenport is already doing it.

I really like Surly Cynic. It's one of the best trippel styles brewed in the US.
