    Windows 8 Consumer Preview

Microsoft released a consumer preview of Windows 8 today. I'm downloading it now, but has anyone on here tried it yet?

    Re: Windows 8 Consumer Preview

Yeah I dig it. It's pretty speedy. It will turn some traditionalists off at first but it was really designed for touch interfaces. Where it excites me the most is its ability to run well on the new tablet styles. Where iPads and android tablets are having a hard time breaking in, in the corporate environment. Like usual it comes down to the hardware, but 8 is very promising.

Makes me wonder if Apple will announce something next week with the iPad 3? I would think they have had an eye on corporations.

Well the iPad is doable, don't get me wrong. The problem lies in software. Our patient software won't run on those devices. You can make use of email and remote desktop, but its not practical for everyday use.

    Re: Windows 8 Consumer Preview

I just put it on a HP mini netbook(dual boot). The netbook seems a ton faster with Windows 8 installed.
