    Win a colonoscopy

Saw this ad yesterday, and didn't think it was real, but evidently it is. Good subject matter, but I'm thinking they had better make that trip to Hawaii if I'm going to enter.

    Re: Win a colonoscopy

That commercial is yet another reason why I rarely watch the networks.

I come home from a long day at work, settle into the recliner to eat some leftovers and stare at the TV before dragging out the laptop to do more work - - and that's the first thing I see on TV. Right now I'm planning to just quietly die of colon cancer rather that go through a colonoscopy. A mammogram is degrading and painful enough. I don't need anymore of these 'helpful' tests.

    Re: Win a colonoscopy

I have never had one done but why would anyone want to fly to New York to get one done? Don't you have to "flush" out your system which I thought was somewhat physically draining. The trip is 3 days so wouldn't the winner have to be preparing for their exam during their trip.

    Better than the catheter commercials.

Since more men a year die from prostate cancer than women die of breast cancer, can we have a "brown out" at Hilton some time to raise awareness. We can get brown ribbons and everything.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not dude?

The timing of the flushing process is all based upon what time they schedule your screening.

When I had mine I was told to don't eat anything after midnight.
The next day you don't eat anything. Can only drink clear liquids and some hard candy.
That evening you start drinking the stuff. Within about 45 minutes you are running to the toilet and about every 15 - 20 minutes thereafter. After you get through half of the stuff you take some gas-x and wait until you are no longer running to the bathroom. Then you go to bed.
I woke up the next morning and did it all over again. By the time you have your appointment things have calmed down enough that you can actually make it to the doctors office without an accident. Pretty soon they dope you up and you wake up feeling kind of cheap with cab fare pinned to the pillow. You use that to go buy some food and pig out.

I am not sure doing the prep in a hotel room would be the most fun thing you ever did. The procedure is not bad at all, the prep is horrible. Drinking a gallon of that syrup makes you nauseous.

I have had a couple. Didnt enjoy the prep much, but overall not terrible. I would rather be in the comforts of my own bathroom though.

    An evening with rebecacy?

Oh, you mean an actual colonoscopy.

I though you were typing metaphorically.
