    NCAA Tickets

Alright, does anyone on here know how tickets work for the NCAA tournament? Me and a few friends are looking to follow Iowa State wherever they end up. Is it still possible to buy the tickets for the entire weekend at a location or is our only chance going to be getting student tickets?

Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

    Re: NCAA Tickets

Each school in the 2nd Round will get something like 250 tickets for only the afternoon or evening session in which they play; ISU would probably make about 25 tickets available to students. If the school advances to the 3rd Round, the individuals who got the 2rd Round tickets again get tickets. Tickets for all sessions at a site can be purchased by going to the following link:

    Re: NCAA Tickets

From my experience you shouldn't have a problem getting tickets at the site or through the official site....the games are played in huge arenas and the ones during the daytime hours are especially spotty with attendance.

I don't think we'll end up in Omaha, but if somehow we do, they only have singles left through Ticketmaster as of last night. Plenty available on stubhub & other 2nd hand outlets. Just about all of the other sites have plenty of tickets left. If I'm going to go, I'll plan on having the ticket site pulled up during the selection show and purchasing as soon as our name is announced.

Not to derail...but hasn't the Ticket Office sent out letters in the past, about now, when the teams have been looking like they will be in post-season play, that say something like
"The team has a chance to play in the post-season at these venues....please mark if you want tickets or log on to the ticket office blah blah blah..."

Maybe they send these out to season ticketholders and/or NCC members, right?

The Athletic Department only sends letters prior to bowl games. For the NCAA BB Tournament, they have donors call into the ticket office, usually Monday morning after the selections; I do not know how the student tickets are distributed. (That's been the process for 25-years.)

Ok, that makes sense. Do you know if the ticket availablity and quality is based on donation/points level? I would assume so, but I remember NIT tickets were first come/fs.

    Re: NCAA Tickets

I went to the 1st & 2nd rounds 3 years ago in KC. I had bought tickets through the Sprint Center lottery, and they were around $150. When we got there, tickets were plentiful on the scalping market, and we're going for nothing. Some of the teams that we saw play included Oklahoma and Memphis.

My family and I went to those as well. We went for the second round.
Blake griffin had some monster jams and hit his head on the backboard. Tyreke Evans was a beast. And then I saw Maryland play someone as well. A lot of fun and a great atmosphere
