    Sweeps (and other milestones/trendbreaking)

In one of today's threads, there was a Q about the last time ISU had 4 conference sweeps in one season. I guessed the most recent case was 2000-01 (and it was).

But on the same subject, this blew my mind, per Randy Peterson:

*The four league sweeps in 2012 match ISUís combined total from 2002-11.

This without Nebraska or Colorado making it way more impressive!

What's crazy is I think we could get around 3 sweeps next year too, maybe more. Lose A&M but no reason we shouldn't sweep TCU in its place

    Re: Sweeps (and other milestones/trendbreaking)

The biggest thing to remember is that we have far more opportunity for sweeps this season than ever before. We are playing the other 9 two times each. Every other year, we played our division twice and the south teams once, so we only had the possibility of sweeping 5 teams. Granted, two of those teams were nebraska and colorado.

Yep. Now we can sweep up to 9 teams instead of just 5. So we've lost NU and CU, but between A&M, OU, and Tech we gained equally good opportunities for sweeps (if not better because @Boulder always seemed to be a disaster)

Not to take anything away from this team though, theyve accomplished a ton.

If we don't, something went very wrong.

Man, shows just how much we've sucked the last 10 years.
