Bearing Sea Gold and other Gold shows

anyone else watching these things. I love both of the gold shows. I felt really good that the crew found gold in the Klondike and was actually proud of them. This whole gold mining in the Bearing Sea is new to me. I did not even know they did it. I can't believe how much gold they pull out of their with these little mom and pop operations. They have these little tiny boats and some dude with snorkle gear on. Love it.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Yep these are the only shows that I try to watch religiously, I really like them both.

I knew they mined for gold up there with dredges but had no idea how much gold is there.

Who wants to get in the business? lol.

I enjoy both shows as well.

Some of those Bering Sea guys make it look pretty easy. I understand there are risks with the diving, but some of those guys seem like complete knuckleheads.

I watch Bering Sea Gold. Very interesting. I wouldn't go out on my dad's farm pond in some of those boats and they are out in the Bering Freaking Sea.

I've never seen the Bering Sea show, but the Gold Rush one got to be too much for me. Talk about Knuckleheads. When a 17 year old kid seems like the smartest most composed of anyone on the show, it really prevented me from being able to watch regularly. I'll give it to Parker, that kid really seemed to be a go getter. I was rooting for all of them to find gold, I know it's edited to create sensationalism, but holy crap a lot of those guys are complete morons.

Like when the mechanic for the Hoffman crew hurt his back, and their 400 is down, so no one works. Did anyone think of having the guy grab a chair and he could guide someone else on what to do. If work is literally coming to a standstill, why the hell wouldn't people be lending a hand to get that 400 fixed?

My favorite was last year, when they had the shaker table set up where it was separating the gold, but not well enough. So, they instead have the wives, kids, and everyone, start panning it by hand. Why not let the shaker table get most of the gold, and pan through it's leftovers?

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Re: Bearing Sea Gold and other Gold shows

I haven't missed an episode in either season.
Looks like they are finally bringing home some gold. 93.5 oz total, 40 oz to split among the guys. Each guy took home 5 oz, worth about $8,000.

Todd's crew still made some boneheaded errors, but not as much as last season. One thing I don't like about Todd is that he always "guarantees" things to his crew and I don't think they ever pan out. Set goals, but don't make them unreachable. Like at the end of the season 2 finale when he said next season he wants to get 1,000 oz of gold??!?! Are you kidding me Todd? You got 93.5 oz from this season and next season you want to get more than 1000 oz?!? Come on...

$8000 per person for five months panning. That would not pay very many bills.

Yeah, they basically got paid probably $4-$5/hour to work.
