    Flopping

Did anyone catch the ridiculous flop Tech's Luke Adams attempted late in the game on a three-pointer, trying to sell contact that wasn't there? It was one for the ages.

My wife (not usually a perceptive basketball mind) said there should be a "Flagrant Flopping" foul for those....that's a pretty damn fine idea! Keiton Page would have an issue with it, though.

    Re: Flopping

I would feel bad booing the guy, but his flops were awful occurring every two seconds. I was hoping Royce would flop against him just as a joke.

Billy G is fun to watch when his players do stupid stuff.

How many times tonight did they show him grinning painfully and just shaking his head? Nurse really made himself look foolish several times in the second half, which I enjoyed.

Not sure who flopped but I definitely saw it and then laughed heartily when the ref called nothing.

Did anyone else notice Royce smile at Billy when he sunk the free throw at the end of the first half after they decided to take their chances putting him at the line.

I didn't see the smile, but I thought that was a brilliant call. Worst case he makes both and TTech gets the ball back with 25 sec left for the last shot.
More likely he misses the first or second (especially since it was a 1 and 1) and TTech gets the ball back with 25 sec.

A similar rule was on the books for 30 years, but it was hardly ever actually called.

"1972-73: Players could not attempt to create the false impression that they had
been fouled in charging/guarding situations or while screening when
the contact was only incidental. An official could charge the “actor” with a
technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct if, in the official’s opinion, the
actor was making a travesty of the game. (In 2002, this rule was deleted
    because of lack of use.)"

I met Billy Gillispie when I went to school at UTEP. He is the type of guy that will speak to anyone if asked. He doesn't give you that "hollier than thow" vibe when approached. Extremely well liked by the media and is a very good coach. Has had some issues with alcohol in the past. DUI. Got caught in El Paso driving down a one-way street drunk. lol.. That was the talk for awhile on campus.
