    Re: JJ Bass???

Shoulder injury that no one will admit to the severity of. I am curious about how severe it is. We really....REALLY need him. Scales has been serviceable, but he doesn't have the cutting ability of Bass.

    Re: JJ Bass???

I don't understand why JJ would play in the second half if the injury was really that bad. I would think Alexander Robinson would get the garbage time carries in that case. I think he's in the doghouse, or the staff is happy with Scales now that he's finally healthy.

As much as Scales impressed me at times today, I'd prefer JJ getting atleast 75% of the carries.

Scales played fine today and I dont think Bass could have done much more than he did. The question I have is if Bass really is hurt... Why are they still giving him carries in the fourth quarter of a game like that? Give the ball to Alexander Robinson.

Scales played pretty good today, not sure why everyone thinks Bass is all that much better.

    Re: JJ Bass???

Scales seems okay to me . . . what was he, at ~4 ypc today? Not bad against Texas w/ our O-line. Bass might have more "big play" ability though.

    Re: JJ Bass???

Scales, while slowfooted, hit the hole, made a few guys miss, and always seemed to have positive yards after contact. Bass always goes down on first contact...

    Re: JJ Bass???

I was very impressed with Scales in the first half. He ran hard and actually ran over some people. I think he had 62 yards rushing in the first half...I'd take that anyday.

    Re: JJ Bass???

I thought JJ's ball security was an issue for the coaches and that might be a reason for less carries.

Yeah, I saw some very tough yards from Scales yesterday.

    Re: JJ Bass???

I was pretty impressed with Scales. I remember him even getting outside a couple of times and cutting it upfield. I'd like to see what he could do in a game when our passing attack actually became a threat to another team.
