Should Iowa State Serve Beer at Sporting Events?

I was excited about a thread involving the possibility of bowling in the south end of JTS. Apparently people would rather debate whether ISU should sell beer at basketball and football games. I'd rather have a thread dedicated to that and stop derailing threads about a totally different topic.

It's an interesting discussion, but it needs to be confined to it's own thread. I'll start...

I don't want this to turn into a political debate, but he has a point. The people who want to get drunk are already doing it. The people who can be responsible will always be responsible. Allowing the sale of beer at JTS or Hilton will not make much of an impact on the idiots that are already drinking inside of said stadiums.

    It's an NCAA rule.

    No it's not.

And if we're going to start a thread on this topic, it NEEDS to have a poll for those who are for/against/indifferent.

If it's an NCAA rule, why can West Virginia do it?

I would say yes for football even though i would assume that would mean no passes out at halftime.

Probably a bad idea. I was drunk enough at those games. I don't want to think about the obnoxiousness it would possibly bring.

I am also for it at softball games. I sat dated a girl on the team and sat through some horrible softball. If I wasn't drunk going in, I don't think I could have made it. Feel bad for those parents. Let em get drunk.

My first thought, also. Seriously, OP--how do you start a thread like this and NOT include a poll?

Based on the other concessions, it would probably be $10 for a 10 oz cup, warm, and stale.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Re: Should Iowa State Serve Beer at Sporting Events?

Well, my point is that anyone who wants to see a game drunk is already doing it. Can we all agree that alcohol is already being brought into these venues?
If 5% of the fans are already drunk or going to get drunk during the game, how many more do you think will have to much to drink if ISU sold beer during the games? My guess is less than 1%, if that.
