    Limbaugh auctioning Harry Reid letter

I just thought this was funny. Harry Reid along with 40 or so Democrat senators (inc. Hillary Clinton) sent a signed letter to the head of Clear Channel demanding a public apology from Rush for the "phony soldier" comments. The head of Clear Channel promptly gave Rush the letter, and he is auctioning it off on ebay, with proceeds to be donated to the Marine Corps-Law enforcement foundation charity.

I'm pretty sure that's not what they had in mind as a form of apology

Cyclonepride are you going to bid on the letter?

Just think if you were the successful bidder you would have original signitures of all your favorite politicians.

You know, it goes to a good cause, but if it didn't, I wouldn't pay more than a quarter for it.

One of the signators of that document is Medal of Honor recipient Daniel K. Inouye. I would like to have his autograph.

You're free to bid on it. Obviously, that guy is a national hero. Too bad he went to the dark side.

    Sigh

This is why politicians should never pick a fight with entertainers. They can’t win.

Major props for the "violence inherent in the system" avatar........I like to drop that one into a thread every now and then.

And true, they can't win. They try to get the guy in trouble with his boss (essentially) and it completely blows up in their face. That's really the part I found funny.

Yes, Inouye is a Medal of Honor reciepient. I met Mr. Inouye in Alaska not to long ago. Mr. Inouye was accompanied by Ted Stevens, one of his closest buddies (friendship-wise as opposed to politically).

$851,000 for the letter. I think I heard Rush will match the bid. $1.6M for the troops. I guess everyone wins.

No, we have to keep the congress-critters we already have.

Did Harkin sign it? He's all mad because he got caught lying about being a "war hero" and now his "sensitivities" have been crushed. Poor baby.

Yes, he did sign it. From what I understand it was a few signatures away from Hillary's, and underlined for effect

Re: Limbaugh auctioning Harry Reid letter

I found delicious irony in the fact that Komrade Harkin was so vocal about his opposition to the phrase "phoney soldiers" when applied to people attempting to claim illegitimate military service. I'm pretty sure that Limbaugh was referring to fakers like Harkin and Kerry.

    Is Rush still on drugs?

He could auction off his sworn testimony to the Feds on why he was buying illegal drugs a couple of years back.
