Potential Big News for our family re Hawkeye Basketball

My little bro-in-law is a freshman at Iowa. He has been asked to tryout to walk-on the Hawkeye Basketball team. He went to a "workout" and was asked to come back. He thinks he is 1 of 5 guys.

I am so excited for him. I know we are Cyclone Fans, but this is a great opportunity for him.

How easy would it be to milk him for inside information?

Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

    I hope he starts.

I am a hard ***. Kinda like bros before hos. I couldn't do that to him. His best friend is a Soph Iowa Football player and he would always tell us last year about how much the team hated Drew Tate. So, maybe small bits of info.

Maybe you should ask RipVDub. It is his brother.

As much as I hate the Hawks, what a fantastic opportunity for your brother-in-law. Probably won't be an easier time for him to start for Iowa.

Come on...you can milk anything with nipples
And RipVDub...we'll be expecting a detailed scouting report for the Iowa game (and for the rest of them so we can post on all the other big 11 teams' message boards)

The problem is that Ripvdub doesn't know yet. YIKES! He is at work and little bro-in-law (LBIL) just told me. He is going to be mad that I found out first. But I told LBIL that he needs to call him and I am not going to say a word to him until he calls. He would want to hear it from his brother first.

LBIL is a GREAT kid and would deserve it more than most. He is 6'2 (so they would say he is 6'4 ) and is about 215. It that good enough info?

It was nice of you to let 5,000 of your CF friends know before your husband.

He will be stealing credit cards within a year. Sorry to hear that about your little bro-in-law. I thought he was a good kid. You know what Hawkeye uni's do to these poor kids.

If he makes the team, how do you think he'll take the news that you and your husband have to disown him as family?

Re: Potential Big News for our family re Hawkeye Basketball

What can I say, im kinda shocked. He played a little in high school, but his senior year he really messed up his ankle and couldnt play. He went to HS with LA Pomlee.

I really wish he makes it, but does that mean i have to cheer for Iowa?!? Not necessarily. I can wish them to do sooooo bad that they have no choice but to put him in. Maybe its a good thing ive held onto that Ryan Bowen gold basketball jersey for all these years.

I just talked to him, they had him read up on some NCAA mumbo-Jumbo(like Iowa players actually adhear to the guidelines!), and he has another practice on Sunday. Even if he doesnt make it he can always try out again next year.

If he makes the team maybe I can go up there and celebrate with him and his teammates?!? "Grey Goose and strippers on me!!!"
