    A.J. Burnett to Pirates?

This would be a fantastic addition for the Buccos. Burnett would go from a division where 1-9 can mash to a light-hitting division (and that was before Pujols and Fielder left). For around $6 million per season this would be a great pick up.

New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates work on A.J. Burnett trade, sources say - ESPN New York

Please God. Let it happen. If the Pirates send some Big League Chew and a few baseballs for eating a majority of the salary let it happen!

Done deal! Finally, a fantastic trade for the Pirates. They give up D-level prospects in Diego Moreno and Exicardo Cayones. The Pirates will owe Burnett $5 million this season and $8 million next season. Well done!

Oh, because 5th and 11th in runs scored was "light hitting"? I getcha.

EDIT: might as well throw Cinci in there at 7th.

You can have him, he was a waste in New York, now NY can start bringing up some of their young pitching talent they have stockpiled.

Good, we'll take him. Wouldn't be the first time a veteran Pitcher had to get out of NY to get him back on track. If he performs like Pavano did after he shed the stripes I'll be pumped. Either way, the Pirates are hoping for half of a good year this year so they can make a deadline deal with a contender to pick up some prospects and continue building.

Haven't the Pirates been building for the last decade?

Thrilled to no longer have to watch Burnett.
