NCAA Nitty Gritty Tournament Game (#3)

Time for another of game for you to choose which team you think deserves the NCAA tournament spot. I think this one is a pretty good match-up, similar RPI but vastly different ways of getting there. Enjoy!

Please do not try and guess or give away either team's name. I will provide this when enough votes have been given and I decide to end this poll and start another.

    I'd go team 2

They went out and played teams with 5 neutral site games, winning 4. Their SOS is way, way better.

19/22 of team 1's wins came vs teams below the top 100 as well.

Re: NCAA Nitty Gritty Tournament Game (#3)

Team 2 and its not close imo.

Also, neither would probably get in as an at large unless they improve their resume between now and selection Sunday.

I like team 2 here as well. 10 losses has me concerned though.

I know both teams..it's very close but I would pick team 2 as team one hasn't played anyone worth a ****

I've gotta go with number 2. Picking number 1 would be like taking 10-2 Arkansas State in a bowl game over 6-6 ISU.

I'm taking team 2. Can't take the first team without a single top 50 win.

Re: NCAA Nitty Gritty Tournament Game (#3)

Due to the brutal schedule team2 has had, I'm surprised they only have 10 losses.

Team 2 would get my nod.

Re: NCAA Nitty Gritty Tournament Game (#3)

    Team 2

If this was a last-in/first-out, it's one of those situations that makes people ask, "How could the committee take a 16-10 over a 22-4 team?" (using end-of-season records). Other than Team 1's SOS, it wouldn't surprise me if both teams made it.

I just don't feel like Team 1 has played (and beat) enough teams of worth

1-100 % is the same for both teams, so it isn't a landslide by any means.

Hunch: I wonder how many of the 1-100 games for Team 1 came out of conference. That means they play challenging non-conference games, but play in a weak conference.

Re: NCAA Nitty Gritty Tournament Game (#3)

only16 wins, albeit high ranking wins, and 10 losses probably with more to come.

Team 1 is weak but has a resume of wining their conference.

Unfortunately I would go with 1.

I'm not trying to be difficult, it comes naturally....

Re: NCAA Nitty Gritty Tournament Game (#3)

Team one has a zero % chance for an at large. They don't win their conference tourney, they will be NIT bound.

Team 2 has work to do, but can still grab an at large.

Lol that both of these teams are projected higher seed than us and there are people saying they have no chance at the tourney.

That's funny who the 16-10 team is. And yeah, they're both almost unquestionably in the tournament at this point in time.
