    Working as a team

Yesterday at the game I notice how much we have come together as a team. Now we have started to actually look like a team. It was fun owning aTm, and loved seeing our guys passing so much. Also found it funny when Ejim missed the dunk the whole bench was giving him **** and laughing.

I agree. They've come a long ways. I'd even go so far as to say they're almost too unselfish at times compared to the beginning of the year where it was probably the opposite. They had a swagger about them yesterday, they were just having fun. Really entertaining team to watch. Royce's behind the back passes to Allen and then Allen throwing a behind the back pass back to Royce was pretty comical as well.

we're very unselfish now. Royce has been scoring less but the scoring is now coming from other players. Everyone is started to know each others strong points and it shows on the court with passes to certain people at certain times or places on the court

We're going to need to be unselfish to beat Baylor's zone. I'm enjoying the extra passing as it will give us a chance against Baylor.

I think part of the problem early in the year is that they were too unselfish as well. They just know how to make it work now.

I don't see how Ejim misses a dunk like that, but in his high school tape, it looks like he's flying when he goes to the rim.

Ive seen him miss a few this year, maybe he should layem up a little more often?

I'm not trying to be difficult, it comes naturally....

But then when he misses a layup, people will tell him just to dunk it.

    Re: Working as a team

I think it took awhile for this team to gel but you can see that guys are very aware of their roles. At times we're almost too unselfish and look complacent but since conference play started this team hasn't gotten rattled, even when they've struggled. To me they reflect the attitude of their coach and their best player. We'd all love to see Royce throw down more dunks but his calm demeanor and ability to take what the defense gives him/the team is what sets the tone for everything this team does. It's been really fun to watch these guys come together.

I also think Freddies progression as a head coach has a lot to do with it. Last year he had such a patchwork group of kids that he was limited in a lot of ways when it came to gameplanning or making adjustments. Having more talent this year has allowed him to be more creative and play the kind of basketball he wants to.

We looked about as excellent as possible considering we weren't lighting the world on fire shooting-wise.

    Re: Working as a team

The second half from the 14 minute mark to 12:53 was about as much fun as it can get.

    - Royce rebounds, runs the break and kicks it out to the trailing Scotty, for a smooth 2
    - Booker rebounds and outlets to a streaking McGee to start a 2 on 1 that ends with a pretty nice layup for Babb. Assist to McGee.
    - Royce rebounds and brings it to a pull up at the top of the key. He drops it off to a curling Scotty who then dumps it off to Booker for a monster dunk

    Needless to say, timeout Aggies.

When we went on that 24-4 run, or whatever it was, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was like perfection.

    Re: Working as a team

It's nice to watch our guys when things fall apart. Where recent teams would have turned a broken play into a runout for their opponent, our guys turn it into a three or a roof-raising dunk.
