This year's team far more talented than Dedric/Cato/Pratt teams

According the Willoughby. That's quite a statement. His teams were pretty damn good.

WRONG! He's just saying that. Not taking anything away from our team this year. But Willoughby, Cato, Pratt were a force. I'd compare it to Kobe, Shaq Lakers of college basketball.

Say what you will, but the Cato/Willoughby/Pratt team was my favorite of all time and probably always will be. But he's right this team probably has more pure talent.

Don't forget Bankhead and Holloway. I was at the last B8 tournament and watched them take down a very good KU team. They played so hard. They just out willed teams. Cato was a freaking beast. Imagine our team with him in the lineup.

Re: This year's team far more talented than Dedric/Cato/Pratt teams

Talent-wise maybe but that team was tough as nails, especially on defense. It's really hard to compare though because having a shot blocker like Cato in the middle makes everyone a better defender by association.

I won't make any comparison's about this years team to past teams though until this team is tested and comes through. In the moment we probably didn't think Dedric and company were much better than we think this years team is at this point but they proved it in conference tourney/NCAA play. IMO we can't really label this years team until we see how they react in pressure situations like tourney play.

Two totally different teams. This years team doesn't have a Cato. That team didn't have a guy like White

I loved Pratt but it looks like Ejim is a better shooter (higher %) a slightly better rebounder, has more height. They are pretty close

Scotty is much better offensively than Jacy. Not as good on defense at all though.

Bankhead and Babb are the same player defensively. Babb better offensively and Bankhead a better rebounder. Push?

Dedric is a better pure scorer than anyone we have at the guard position.

B/c of Cato I'd give the edge to that team but this team might have a stronger top 8 than that team did. Good for discussion

Talent still needs to play together. A big test will be in Waco. The Buckeyes had talent but MSU outplayed them yesterday in Columbus. Sullinger had 10 turnovers due to misplaying double teams.

If Dedric is being sincere (I assume he is) I'll take his word for it.

You can try but the teams are not comparable. This year's group has alot of talent BUT is not, yet, a "team" like the Pratt/Cato group were .....we will see if they get there.

I think more talent may sit on the bench than the Cato team had, but you can only put five players on the floor at one time.
