    OT: Cheap Flights?

I am going to Arizona later this month and need to find a web site where i can get cheap tickets... i have went to a few but was wondering if any1 had any sites where they have had good luck with/ cheap..

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

i always have best luck just going directly to the airline websites and messing around with the flight combinations ntil I find a combo that fits my budget. When you go to the other sites they hit you with backloaded fees.

    Re: OT: Cheap Flights?

Priceline's name your own price works great if you are willing to fly at any time during the days you want to fly and don't mind a plane change. I have gotten round-trip tickets from Baltimore to Chicago and Minny for $100 before. Or if you would want to fly out of Omaha use Southwest to AZ they were always really cheap when I was stationed at Huachuca.

If you want something cheap, don't go out or into DSM. It's always going be more expensive out of there since it's really small.

I have checked KC and Omaha for our jamaica vacation this spring, and it ended up being only a few dollars cheaper. Not worth the 3 hr travel time, gas, and hassle. We just fly from dsm now.

Since I don't know exactly where you want to go, or when, I cannot be sure about what rate you could get. However, I've never paid more than $250 for a flight from Des Moines to Phoenix.

    Re: OT: Cheap Flights?

I fly every week on Biz, but don't live in the Highest priced market in America (IOWA).. I fly Southwest mostly and Frontier or US Airways when I have to. I won't fly Northworst or United ( need to arrive with luggage and on time).

My family who haven't escaped Iowa yet go to KC or Omaha and Fly southwest. Just had 7 of them in Albuquerque for Balloon Feista. Anyone who uses priceline or other sites do at your own risk. Travelocity is good, it reveals airline and allows some selection. I use Southwest "Ding" and buy cheap fares each week. I travel 13 Western States and get a free Southwest ticket Every month.

Cheap on other airlines means "at your own risk" on Southwest it means customer service. Wouldn't be nice if Southwest entered the Des Moines market and "busted" the legacy carriers in the Chops as they have in 63 other markets! It was just a thought

    Re: OT: Cheap Flights?

Yeah amreican through dallas to phoenix from des moines is usually around $250 for a round trip. And also as someone else mentioned Allegiant air will start on the 20th this month with flights from CR to Mesa for $89 each way. I love the fact that I won't have to deal with sky harbor air port anymore.

    Re: OT: Cheap Flights?

US Air and America West to AZ is almost always going to be the cheapest airline. However, AZ in the fall/winter - not many sales! :) Lots of people going there...

use expedia or travelocity to identify a cheap flight. Go to that airlines website, and get the tix for $5-15 cheaper. discount travel sites charge a commission.
