    Which combination: FSU/Clemson or Louisville/BYU

I think there is enough smoke to assume the Big 12 will expand to at least 12 before 2015. It also seems that the two will either be FSU and Clemson (if the Big 12 can talk them into joining) or Louisville and BYU (dont think any talking into is required by the Big 12). Which pair would you rather have? FSU and Clemson bring more prestige but tougher competition while BYU and Louisville bring less prestige but easier competition. The Big 12 with FSU and Clemson would be as good if not better than the SEC, but holy smokes it would be a tough league.

FSU/Clemson would cement the conference from ever being in a position of weakness again, thereby solidifying ISU's status in a major conference.

    Louisville /BYU
I feel like FSU and Clemson would just be 2 more teams that kick our teeth in 3 out of 4 times.

Re: Which combination: FSU/Clemson or Louisville/BYU

I prefer Clemson/FSU. I think they could really solidify the Big 12 as a premier sports league, It would put a Huge Dent in the ACC, Quality Football, $$$, We could compete in BBall.

Lets face it, our best case scenario for football is middle of the pack no matter who is in our league.

I like the following divisions & Cross Division Rivals

    WVU-KU
    FSU-ISU
    Clemson-KState
    Texas-Oklahoma
    TCU-Baylor
    Tech-OSU

Louisville is a lock. If any ACC teams come it will be 1 plus Louisville or we are going to 14 teams.

That said...I don't believe Clemson or FSU has any interest.

    FSU/Clemson

Then go back to 8 conference games to soften the blow.

I don't think so either. I think they are both a little ****** that the ACC seems to be putting more emphasis on basketball and trying to use the Big 12 as leverage to get what they want.

I want Louisville, but do not want BYU. With WV we've already moved east. I don't think moving that far west is a good idea especially if we have good options.

From the standpoint of TV revenue, I have to think that FSU/Clemson is much more attractive than BYU/L'ville.

I agree with most of what you said, but you can't actually believe that FSU would allow us to be their cross-division rival?

Re: Which combination: FSU/Clemson or Louisville/BYU

I just rank them in desirability 1 thru 4. I don't see the need for my opinion to be based on matched pairs.

    1. FSU: A premier football school (national championships) with a currently white-hot basketball team in a very high population state with a huge fanbase.

    2. BYU: A well respected football school (one somewhat questionable football national championship). Well respected Basketball tradition (can you say Jimmer?). Nationally based fan base. Regionally a good fit.

    3. Clemson: A well respected football school (at least on national championship in my lifetime.) SC is pretty well represented by the Gamecocks. I don't think Clemson pulls the state interest, but not familiar enough with SC/Clemson fanbases to really know. Basketball???

    4. Louisville: Good fit regionally with WV already in. GREAT BB tradition and national championships. Football is respectable but not on parr with the above 3. I feel like Louisville loses fanbase being between UK and Indiana, thus their fanbase is very localized to their urban area and just slightly around it.

Any of the four would be fine, really. Just thought I put my rankings for preference out there and why.

No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine.
