    Big XII Tournament Questions

I'll be heading down to KC with a group of 3 on Friday if we win the Thursday game. Should we buy tickets online or count on scalping?

Win or lose, we will be there for the weekend. Are their hotels within walking distance of the venue that aren't already packed? I'm just looking for any suggestions that might help.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Big XII Tournament Questions

I'd purchase tickets in advance. This year is basically a perfect storm for huge crowds. KU and Missouri #1 & #2, last Big 12 Tournament for Missouri, ISU playing well. Tickets might be above face value.

This is a good point. The year's to wait and scalp them is the years when Texas, Oklahoma & other schools from the south have good teams.

This will be my first B12 turny. I was wondering how much ticket prices are, approximately. Do you buy them per game, per day, or a package deal?

    Re: Big XII Tournament Questions

It's also possible that ISU, KSU and either MU/KU will all be in the same session.

As of this morning, the Thursday afternoon session would be:
    #4 ISU vs #5 KSU
    #1 MU vs 8/9

That'd be a tough ticket to get.

    Re: Big XII Tournament Questions

Am I right when I see the single session tickets range from $100-$500? Or are there cheaper tickets available..

    Re: Big XII Tournament Questions

If the stars line up right, 1st day half price face value. 2nd and 3 rd session up to 3 times face value. 4th session will be 3 to 4 times face or more and finals could be many dollars. Kansas and Missouri fans will pay. I have been going for many years and no way I would buy tickets ahead of time unless I could get them thru the school which are sold out. my opin.

    Re: Big XII Tournament Questions

It all depends on the session and who is playing for what tickets will go for. Sometimes you can get the evening early round sessions on the cheap when no one of importance is playing but if KU, KSU, and probably MU this year are playing you can expect to pay good money even for upper deck seats. Throw in that ISU is probably going to bring a good crowd down this year since we are actually better than the past few years and that is going to drive the demand up some more too.

Went 2 years ago and probably sold half of my all-session passes off for nearly what I paid for the entire set just because a lot of KU and KSU fans will not have tickets to the sessions they play in. A few years before that OSU made the championship game against another south team I believe and you could get tickets for next to nothing that day because there was no local appeal.

Actually championship game isn't nearly the market you think it would be because the off the street market will be very saturated because anyone not associated with a team in the game is trying to sell their tickets. The semi final round usually has the biggest mark ups as long as KU and KSU are both in it. The first day you can find good deals, the second day depending on the matchup maybe a slight market but once the sessions start the ticket prices go down in a hurry.
