are d-walker, okoro and long the same player?

admittedly i don't follow basketball as much as football so throw me a bone here. we are in dire need for a pg but looking at our most recent recruiting class we did not get a true pg? are any of these guys capable of playing the point for us? they are all 6'3"+ and fairly slender. are their games that much different from one another?

couple that with what we have returning for gaurds, we still only have palo and sledge returning as PGs. Is lucious expected to run the point? even then we have a walkon and sledge (who hasn't played much at all) as backups.

    chris babb SG
    tyrus mcgee SG
    Bubu Palo PG
    Tavon Sledge
    Korie Lucious ????

Both Lucious and Long are pure PG's. That shouldn't be a problem next year.

No, not all the same player. Dorsey-Walker is a shooter. Naz Long is a PG-combo guard. and Okoro is a slasher/bruiser. Look for Lucious to run the point alot with long/bubu backing him up. Just my guess.

Naz Long is the 7th best player coming out of Canada - his videos are sick and he gets no respect from ESPN's rankings - probably because they hate Canada.

I've heard it said that Okoro is the closest thing to Curtis Stinson that we have had since Curtis Stinson.

Dorsey-Walker is just like McGee in that he doesn't miss three's...except he is 6 foot 4.

Lucious is a pure point guard, so I'm pretty sure he will be running point next year. Sledge, Bubu, and Long will back him up so I think we should be fine in that area next year. We could be a very dangerous team next year, hopefully it can all come together.

Also I think Niang is a PF, Walker play more like a shooting guard, and Okoro is more like a SF type player.

I have a feeling Sledge won't be around next year.

No maybe with Korie Lucious. He will be the point period.

Also your missing the bus on the best player on the team including Royce. That will be Will Clyburn. This kid is pure money as a 6'8 guard.

Agreed. Clyburn is going to be good, real good. His game reminds me of Kevin Durant...obviously not THAT good but they play the same way.

Re: are d-walker, okoro and long the same player?

All interviews I've remembered hearing from Fred is that he pretty much beams from ear to ear when talking about Lucious at point next year. It sounded pretty firm that Luscious is almost a lock already to start for us there. I also think Long/Bubu will mostly hash it out as a backup.

As for Clyburn, the thing I love about the kid is that he is already proven. He was the best player for Utah last year and I believe I remember that he was second team all conference. I'll take nearly any major conference team's best player about any day of the week, especially when Fred talks about him having pro potential, and when I really consider him as gravy to an already solid team. I like it!!

Re: are d-walker, okoro and long the same player?

We all know that someone is not going to be around next year (not counting the seniors who are graduating). It would seem to be either Sledge or Railey, but I guess it could always be that Royce told Fred he is leaving after one year. Either that or we have convinced someone to play without a scholarship (highly doubtful).

I don't see Long Okoro or Dorsey Walker receiving much playing time next year because I don't think they will be that ready to play and also because we have the benefit of having talented experienced players. The only Freshman I see getting significant playing time is Niang.
