Royce took a shot in the first half.

How come they didn't think he took a shot until the dunk in the 2nd half? Or more accurately, why didn't they record it as a shot attempt? He shot, missed, got the ball back and shot again but was fouled. They don't count the attempt due to the foul but he shoot prior to that. It was pretty obvious. Even DVR backed up my initial thought.

Why did I post this? I don't know.

Was the foul called on the initial shot? I had forgotten how that play went, but you are right, he did follow his own shot.

Re: Royce took a shot in the first half.

I knew he took the shot as well. They must have called the foul on the initial shot, because the box score only shows one attempt.

Re: Royce took a shot in the first half.

It sure didn't seem like they called the foul until the 2nd attempt. At least the whistle didn't come until the 2nd attempt.

Regardless, he certainly tried a shot before that dunk...it just wasn't an official attempt due to a foul or a mistaken official scorer. ESPN had him with an attempt in the first half for awhile (I was out for the 1st half following on mobile).

Agree, as big of a deal as the announcers were making about him not taking a shot, it's a very valid thread.

Technically, do you consider a "two-handed in-your-face slam" taking a shot? I prefer that he gets credit for "shooting" 100% from the field. And Cydkar, I too wonder why you brought this up.

Re: Royce took a shot in the first half.

Somewhat related question that I should probably not bring up: was he credited for a rebound on the put-back? This stinks of conspiracy!

Mostly, because I grow tired of only seeing threads that are of monumental importance.

Re: Royce took a shot in the first half.

Just out of curiousity did it hit the rim. It does not count if it don't hit the rim. So basically if you air ball a shot a guy can't get credit for a rebound either. It's just a turnover.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Is this true? I have never understood it this way...

EDIT: Not true - it only matters if it hits the rim when determining whether or not to reset the shot clock.

They must have thought the foul was on the first shot instead of the second
