    Chris Babb (article)

We cannot afford to take him out imo. All-Big 12 defender, but tonight he reminded me he has a complete game. Next year should be a big year for him.

Great article! I am a huge Babb fan. I'm not sure how many conf wins we'd have if we didn't have him on D

    Re: Chris Babb (article)

Babb's effort may not always end up in the stat line, but he is the second biggest stud on our team, IMO. He is almost always matched up on the opponent's best scorer and he completely shuts them down each and every night.

    Re: Chris Babb (article)

To me, this has been the critical development changing this team from the one that lost to Drake, into the one that beat Kansas (nearly twice).

Start of year, it seems like Babb and Allen were very much the same guy. Both trying to be the guy who scores 20 a game - even if that meant driving into trouble and hoisting up bad shots. To some extent, starting the year, seemed like EVERYONE wanted to be that guy, and no one was filling any of the roles a TEAM needs. Just a bunch of individuals.

But somewhere Babb decided (was told?) that he was going to be the stopper. That's a critical role though you don't get quite the sexy press for it. Think Kantrail Horton on those LE teams. Since then, it seems like the team has been playing a lot better overall. And Babb has been a heck of a defender, oh by the way.

I think others on the team have seen Babb's example and are playing more within themselves and relying on their teammates. And that has made this much more of a team, and led to the success they are now having. Don't know if true, but it really feels like that is what has happened. If it is true, then Babb's unselfishness has been the key to this team's transformation into a contender.

    Thank you, young Mr. Babb.

    Re: Chris Babb (article)

Babb's Defense is invaluable. A lock down defender. I was really, really impressed with the way the ENTIRE team passed the ball yesterday and found the open man and knocked down the 3's. Freaking awesome teamwork. And kudos to Royce, who only attempted 1 shot and didn't force things while handing out 7 assists. We are playing great TEAM Ball right now. Don't let up.

If he's a SO and playing JV, I tend to doubt he's on Chris' level.

He is on the varsity team. "JV" is listed under experience. He was on the JV team as a freshman.

    Varsity | Arlington Martin Basketball

Looks like he scores about 12 points per game (news articles)
