Just back from Norman, few observations

    1. Babb was the silencer tonight. There were only a couple times that the crowd made enough noise to actually make it feel like an OU home game instead of a neutral site game, and Babb put them back in their seats both times. Don't know how his game translated on TV, but he was the MVP in my mind for the difference he made in momentum.
    2. Student section consisted of a group of about 4 rows behind 1 of the baskets and 10 dudes wearing Wranglers and boots standing behind the cheerleaders. No impact on the game or rest of the crowd.
    3. Lloyd Noble Center is a decent place to watch a game. $41 all-in for a family of 5 to see the game, and we moved down to the 1st row of the upper bowl because there were thousands of empty seats (thank you students for not showing up). But I also can't remember ever seeing a stadium with a drop ceiling...like an office building...which seemed really odd.
    4. Yes, McGee had a large and vocal contingent watching him. They were behind the bench and also in other spots around the stadium. But Allen and Babb each had a following too. Babb grew up 3 hours away, but I'm not why Allen had so many people waiting for him after the game.
    5. Attending a road win is fun, but nothing compares to a day at Hilton and Great Plains pizza afterward.

That has always bugged my about that place. I've never been there, but whenever I see it on TV it annoys me for the same reason you said. It reminds me of a ceiling you'd see in an office.

I was thinking the same thing. I think we all start to take his defense for granted since he brings it every game. That being said, I think Meljim impacted the game today just as much.

As terrible and pathetic as OU's crowd is...they will still somehow get a higher ranked recruiting class than us and probably pull in some top 50 like talent. Drives me nuts.

I do think recruits are going to notice how well we support our team when we win.

Well, they cheat for one thing. Kelvin Sampson, Billy Tubbs and the last guy were not the most honest recruiters in the world.

Now they have Lon Kruger though, and he knows how to coach. He will have them going in a year or two.

Plus it is not like that place has always been empty. When they have good teams it is full. That used to be one of the feared place to play in the old Big 8 and even in recent year.

Lon is always looking for the next job. If Okie gets respectable again at all, he's gone, or retired.

Recruits care very little about fan support in the end. They want to win and they want to play in the NBA. Not to say our fan support isn't a bonus in recruiting...but in the end it's not that important. Which suck because obviously it's one of ISU's biggest advantages.

Close to Texas. The drive to OU is much shorter for friends and family. Plus you can hear them cheer for you during the game.
