Im just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard, Eustachy joked. If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, hell be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.

Based on his posts, I'm guessing Alaskaguy must be a leftist socialist communist who attacks the crab boats as they return to the harbor to release the animals.**

Re: Political filter (please leave on main)

When political/religious stuff gets posted up here, and it goes against my personal opinions it makes me think I actually could have things in common with other Iowa fans, Husker fans, KU fans, etc who happen to share my personal beliefs. That makes me feel dirty.

I'd rather just keep politics and religion off the board, or at least out of sight, and focus on what we have in common as Cyclone fans. Sure we'll have disagreements about coaching, etc. But I'd rather see discussion on that rather than global warming, religion, abortion, etc.

I certainly would like this site to be a "political free zone". Everywhere else (TV, Radio, Internet, etc.) I get bombarded with politics. CycloneFanatic is an escape from that, where we can all discuss something we're passionate about...Iowa State Athletcis!

Re: Political filter (please leave on main)

I'm glad to see the political threads moved elsewhere. Quite honestly, my views tend to clash with a very vocal majority that seem to dominate the political threads. It gets REALLY old reading the same unfounded remarks. (liberal media bias anyone?) I've tried to reason w/ people in them, but I found banging my head against my desk to be more productive, so I've given it up. Plus, I really want to be able to like my fellow cyclone fans, so this way we can focus on what brought us all together in the first place, rather than focus on our differences.

    GO CYCLONES!

That does tend to be a problem with the arguements, though I'm guessing there are plenty with sore heads from trying to change your mind.

The only group that can be effectivly biased is the truely undecided (a truth in more than Politics) - humans as a whole do not like to be told they are wrong and tend to stick to their guns even harder once they are disagreed with.

The unfortunate thing ... or maybe fortunate ... is that the truely undecided tend not to bring up the topics or post to them.

I'm really ok with it. I never saw the point of reading political threads if they annoy you, but whatever. As long as we have space somewhere on the site to heckle the liberals and make them cry

I like this idea. If it was an option people could just do what they preferred.

Ditto on the User Preference idea about blocking political threads or not on the front page. I originally thought it was already an option and tried to change it.

I just like that it has its own category now. If I am not in a "political" mood, I don't have to look at them.

Re: Political filter (please leave on main)

If possible, a way for people to have a setting for which forums they want to show up on the main page would be nice. I enjoy the off topic threads, but I can understand that some people just want to ignore them.

    I appreciate the witty response.

My thoughts are that this is first and foremost a sports bulletin board. Therefore I have no issue with bannishing the political threads to the Forum Index.

I realize that the overwhelming portion of my posts have been to political threads. However, I do immensely enjoy reading the ISU athletic threads (after all that is what this board was designed for). I would post more frequently to the ISU athletic threads if there was substantive information I could offer.

I offer apologies to those that were offended by either the quantity or content of my posts. That clearly was not my intent.
