That first question has me thinking that they read this board.

    Re: Cyclone Alley questionnaire?

This probably isn't the right place for this but I'm going to try to explain it anyway--I have in the past and I don't think I have effectively communicated my point. But it regards the free throw "distractions".

I'm fine with what is being attempted...but it isn't effective to suddenly have everyone waive their arms to one side when prior to that waive everyone is waiving their arms back and forth wildly. The "distracting waive" gets lost with all of the other arm movement and has no effect.

Everyone needs to hold their arms up, perfectly still, then on the signal waive your arms the given direction.

Does that make sense? Am I off my rocker here?

Kind of a simplistic approach of questioning to something that is more complex.

And i would personally say for most games, student attendance isnt all that bad, it just looks a lot worse because a)students fill front to back instead of spreading out and hiding empty seats and B)most of the students are the original owners of those tickets, where general tickets are often not (since they are easier to resell). If it was just as hard for general ticketholders to sell, we would see more gaps in those sections too.

Which is why the best thing students could do would be to answer "Give us physical paper tickets that can be re-sold to anyone with a valid student ID" as the answer to #3.

Hell, i'd open it up to anyone without a student ID even. Let non-students sit in the upper deck with those tickets (theyre not going to be able to sit in parquet\arena circle without the CA shirt). Given those tickets cost more than comparable balcony seats ($125 vs $99), its not like it would be a situation where a non student is taking advantage of a cheaper, subsidized ticket. It would still remain student-focused, but i could see some younger alumni jumping on those to be in a 'standing section'

Even without that though, just giving the paper option to make it somewhat easier to get tickets to other students would be a benefit.

Honestly I think if the students just decided to go ape s*** crazy each and every free throw it would be more efficient. Have an energy drink sponsor the student section and give em out before the games. I like the huge heads. More signs, more ape s*** crazy and you have a better distraction.
