Must-win for KSU and letdown game for ISU?

So says sports radio in KC. KSU would fall two games behind us with a loss. They have a four game stretch coming up against Texas, KU, Baylor, and MU with three of those on the road.

Vibe down here is that KSU will prevail tomorrow night. We have to match their effort. Frank Martin will have them ready.

After watching KSU play this year I like this match-up for us...if the refs don't call ticky tak fouls we get the W

Lots of talk that KSU will just hammer on Royce with their depth and take him out of the game. They can go 12-deep so they have a lot of fouls to give. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of Booker and Percy and less of Ejim than normal.

We're going to be shooting a lot of free throws. Their guards will be physical with ours on the perimeter. We need the refs to be calling the hand-checks and mugging they usually get away with.

Re: Must-win for KSU and letdown game for ISU?

Martin said after the OU game that they didn't handle OU's toughness and OU was by far the more physical team which was why they lost. I'm expecting an all-out mugfest tomorrow night.

This game is scary, KSU is a tough team to beat, they will be ready. We will have to match their toughness and rebounding, hopefully the refs don't allow the mugging that KSU normally gets away with.

I think it actually helps that we have a tough opponent coming in. I'd fear a letdown more if it was TT or someone like that.

Re: Must-win for KSU and letdown game for ISU?

I've been scared about this game for the past week. K-State losing to OU didn't help either. They are physical and deep so this will be a dog fight and they will probably be able to dictate the tempo.

If our shooters are hitting 3's then we win. If not, I see KSU sneaking out with a close one.

If we didnt have a let down after the OSU win, I don't see one here. I didn't see too much celebrating from ISU on Saturday, and I hope they hit the ground running yesterday. Its a huge game for ISU, winning these two at home would make a statement.

Re: Must-win for KSU and letdown game for ISU?

It's not an ideal set-up, that's for sure, but I think ISU can show up hungry for more and take it to the Wildcats. If it turns into a foul-fest, hopefully we see that Royce's FT improvement on Saturday wasn't just a fluke.

I really wish KState had handled their business this weekend.

This game is a must win for us as well. We need more top 50 RPI wins and with a win we pull away from KSU to keep 4th place.

I watched part of the OU vs KSU game and wasn't very impressed with KSU at all. I don't think we've really had a letdown game in conference play yet so I would be really surprised to see one tomorrow night.
