    Bears name GM

    Phil Emery

Worked for the Bears as a area scout from 98-04. Briggs, Urlacher, Tillman, Mike Brown and Tommie Harris all drafted during this time. On the other hand so were Cade McNown and Curtis Enis.

Was the Falcons director of college scouting when they selected Matt Ryan and Roddy White.

Was currently at the same job with the Chiefs.

Seems like an OK hire. We'll see how good he is at managing the salary cap and signing free agents. Dwayne Bowe is an unrestricted free agent this year and Emery will want to sign players he is familiar with. Could Bowe head to Chi-Town???

I really was hoping they would have gotten the guy from the pats. This guy could be more of the same garbage, hopefully not.

That's my fear too. I was kind of hoping for Licht also. Lots of positive reports from the Chicago media about Emery though. So that gives me hope. At least the drafting should be better. That's a definate step up from Angelo!
