    KSU/ISU - contrast in styles

KSU will be the most physical team we play this year. They destroyed MU by extending their defense way past the three point line and putting so much pressure on MU's guards. MU started their offense from not too far beyond half court. They also killed them on the boards.

KSU might be the worst matchup for us in the B12. They have the length and depth to defend Royce. Hilton will help plus their offense can be brutal. Babb vs. McGruder will be fun to watch. I still think we get the win.

Time to prove we are better than them.

OU had the perfect game plan. They won the turnover battle, held their own on the boards, made their free throws, and kept McGruder from going off. He's pretty much all they have offensively. KSU wins by forcing turnovers and riding McGruder. They also pound the offensive boards. If we take care of the ball and defend him, we will beat them.

Re: KSU/ISU - contrast in styles

They are the most physical team we play every year, or at least since Frank Martin took over. It will turn into a wrestling match, the refs will lose control after awhile, I will get ******. That is how they play, to come out so physical that the refs cant possibly call everything and by the second half the refs are numb to the hacking they put on people. Purdue plays the same way.

I would disagree that they can matchup with Royce, no one can really. They might be able to get him in foul trouble by just throwing bodies at him though. But in that case they get in foul trouble early as well. So he will have to be smart, KU did something similar by throwing different guys at him, so Royce just has to stay out of foul trouble.

They are desperate for a win and sort of have their backs agaisnt a wall after losing to OU at home.

K State is just awful from the line, and that really holds them back. We should be able to win this at home, but it will be a tough battle with them and very low scoring.

I think we will come out of this with a W. What I like about the team right now is that they don't seem content with where they are now, they know it's going to take wins like this if they want to get to the tournament. Mcgees tweet "Not finished..." from yesterday really gave me some more confidence in the team.

The homer factor is really bad at their place. The students are right on top of the floor. They get away with murder. KSU's big men are long and athletic... they gave Baylor's bigs a lot of trouble... which is obviously saying something. Royce has to keep his cool. They have a lot of fouls to give away. KSU was 15-18 in free throws against OU... which is unusual.

Re: KSU/ISU - contrast in styles

    Two questions:
    1) Will Jordan Railey see some time in the interior battle?
    2) Will anyone try to bite him this year?

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!
