Disagree with media calling this a "shocking" win

I know that's their way to hook viewers and readers. But this was not a shocking win. Not after how we played them in Lawrence and the progress we've made over the last four weeks.

One announcer said it was not that large a surprise to see Clones win. Who said different?

Re: Disagree with media calling this a "shocking" win

Both Katz and Gottlieb said before the game that it would not be a huge upset - losing on the road in the B12. Gottlieb did pick KU, but Katz picked us.

Re: Disagree with media calling this a "shocking" win

We should have beat them much worse than we did. I felt like ISU didn't play that well for a lot of the game. Would like to see them again on a neutral court, I think we have a chance to really beat them down if we played well.

Re: Disagree with media calling this a "shocking" win

I think a lot of the uninformed public is more calling this a "shocking win"...some people in the media are, but not really.

I think the informed people in the media realize that we could have EASILY beaten Missouri and Kansas the first time. Not to mention the last loss to Texas was easily within reach.

Seriously, we could very well be undefeated in Big 12 play this year and I think the INFORMED public/media knows this.

Re: Disagree with media calling this a "shocking" win

I read and heard numerous people say this would be KU's toughest road test to date. Bill Self was one of them. Definitely an upset. Probably not shocking considering it seemed that most of Cyclone Nation was predicting a win.
