    That's because you've been drinking that "brewed for the masses" stuff. Once you get used to the hoppy taste of an IPA, Miller Lite/Bud Light taste like water.

    Hops are amazing. I didn't really like IPA's until I started brewing my own and got the opportunity to smell real hops. Now I look for new IPA's to try and I loved it when Olde Main brewed their Double IPA.



    Also, just a note. Miller Lite's "Triple Hop" process...not that special. A vast majority of beers add their hops multiple times during the brewing process. I would venture to guess that Coors Light and Bud Light both use a triple hop process as well.

    Not what I'm drinking today, but have any of you guys tried Bud Light Platinum? Don't think it goes on sale until Monday, but there was a premier party in WDM a couple days ago.

    It comes in a fancy blue glass bottle & features 6% alcohol with 137 calories (iirc).

    I didn't think it was terrible, but I definitely won't be buying it on a regular basis.

    I don't drink the "brewed for the masses" crap, but I'm no fan of IPAs either. I'm more of a fan of dark ales, such as oatmeal stouts and wheat ales.

    They're kind of an acquired taste. Nothing wrong with not liking them -- a lot of people don't.

    I was into IPAs when I first got into craft beer. My tastes have changed to prefer maltier beers vs hoppy ones. I'm not sure if this is a natural progression as your palate matures (kinda like white wine to red wine).

    I finally tried Leinenkugel's Big Eddy Imperial Stout. Really, really good. Imperial Stouts are my favorite style and this is one of the best. Quite a change for Leinies and their line of lagers. I hear it's fairly hard to find, but there's plenty of it to go around here in Chippewa Falls.
