    Just back from game

I don't know what it is about the Erwin Center, but we have mucho difficulties winning in that building. Not many positives, but we never gave up and that was impressive.

I was most pleased with Percy Gibson. He gave us a really nice presence on the interior and when he was in, the momentum shifted in our favor. The dude has some really solid moves and will be a force for the next three and half years.

I was really trying to will a free throw make for Royce. The two airballs were really bad and the UT fans really got in his head for those.

    Onward and upward.

Royce White missed some free throws yeah but I'm scared to think what the score would be without him. Tough loss. Agree on Percy. He will be a great player for us down the road if not already.

Walters sounded pretty disgusted with the officiating tonight. Was there anything to it, or just a home town broadcast? From their commentary, it sounded as though Texas was getting away with a lot of physical play.

Totally agree, without Royce, we get smoked. Loved the energy of Tyrus and Ejim as well.

I wish I would have taken a pic of the UT dance team; they were ridiculous. As in awesome.

    Re: Just back from game

    Just got back as well.

The arena was pretty empty. The crowd was dead for most of the night. The loudest the crowd got was when they were relentlessly chanting at Royce.

Too many missed opportunities. Too many missed bunnies. Too many head scratchers from the zebras. And yet the Clones nearly came to force a tie in the final seconds.

I had a couple nice conversations with some nearby UT fans. They were very complimentary of Fred and the guys and the work they've done in the Big 12 so far. It was a nice change from most of the other games I've attended in this city, which usually consisted of "lol ur a Cyclone fan?"

This was my observation as well. The first 5 minutes or so, I felt the refs let a lot of contact go on both ends of the floor, which helped us get out to an early lead by battling for loose balls and playing hard.

After the first media timeout, the calls changed and we went from 0 fouls to 4 in about a minute. As the game wore on, it looked to me like Texas was allowed to play more physical defense than we were.

This was especially true in the last minute or so. There were two possessions in a row where Chapman threw an elbow into our guy's chest to create space, and nothing was called. On some of the other loose balls that Texas came up with, they were beating our guys up pretty badly and getting away with it.
