    DVR questions

Do I have to pay for extra through mediacom in order to have a DVR or can I just buy one and hook it up?

I thought it was an extra $5 or $10 a month

    Re: DVR questions

You can do either. Mediacom has a dvr, or you can buy a TiVo and only have to pay mediacom for the cablecard that goes in it ($2/month), you have to pay for the TiVo service with that though, so a charge either way.

    Re: DVR questions

I was lucky and got a couple of TiVo's several years ago and paid $300 for a lifetime subscription. One of them is acting like it is dying though, so I'll probably be getting one through mediacom soon enough.

DVR is something that you get used to very quickly.
