That was a no brainer. Tyrus really held the lead for us while everyone else was cold.

Echo everything said here. There is no doubt the kid is going to be a fan favorite here. If this team reaches the NCAAs, Tyrus McGee will be a guy people are routinely mentioning among their favorite ISU basketball players in 10 years, much the same way people have really fond memories of guys like Kantrail Horton and Mike Nurse.

It's become very obvious as to why Freddie both wanted him so badly and took the lead on recruiting him. He's responsible for the last 2 wins, IMO.

Balance is a great thing about this team. McGee is carrying the team while Babb/Allen are up and down on their shot and while Royce gets into some foul trouble.

You can cred multiple players for different wins.

Ejim was huge at the end of the Texas game.

I really don't understand why this kid isn't starting. He plays with more energy and heart than anyone else on the floor when he's out there.

Great points. The team is developing to the point where they don't look uncomfortable out there even if one player is in foul trouble, or off their game. A lot of different weapons, and I think other teams have to pick their poison. Obviously, Royce getting in foul trouble is a problem because he is so multidimensional, but we've been holding leads when he's out, or even increasing it.

Who cares who starts? The fact is his minutes are going up and THAT is what counts.

I'm really glad he's got another year to play. He'll fill a nice void when Scotty leaves.

Don't underestimate how valuable that kind of energy and heart has coming off the bench.

In the true team mentality, everyone understands and accepts their role. Tyrus understands that his best attribute is coming of the bench as the team's "second wind". Freddie has figured that out and Tyrus obviously loves that role. It's more important than being a starter.
