Looking for name of former player...driving me nuts!

Who is the sharp-shooting juco 2 guard who played on one or both of Eustachy championship teams? We had him for 2 years I believe. He was no more than 6-1 or 6-2 and use to be on Sound-Off occasionally? Thanks!!!

Yes. Kantrail Hortan. Anyone remember he had that breakaway dunk, no defenders back, against Kansas in 2001 at Hilton, and got hung by the rim?

That was the game KU was top 5, and we were top 10. Freshmen Jake Sullivan and Shane Powers went off.

Horton also hit a mammoth 3 from part of the Jayhawk at Allen Fieldhouse in a win there and the announcers went nuts that he made it from Kansas City.

Horton wasn't the shooter Nurse was, but Cantrail was built like a brick outhouse. Strong defender and rebounder.

Re: Looking for name of former player...driving me nuts!

Horton was maybe a better shooter than Nurse by a bit. He was 40% plus for 3 point percentage when he was here, I think.

Mike Nurse was nails though. He had that competitive streak you don't see very often. Hated to lose--hated it. A great leader when he was here.

I still remember him trying to pull LE off the ref in the game against Michigan State in the Elite Eight. LE was losing it, Mike still wanted the chance to win.

Didn't that kid get run over by a truck once when he was crossing Lincoln Way while he was here?

Uhh what? Horton was a better shooter than Nurse. Both were very good shooters.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”
