    What a Gorgeous Day!!

Fantastic! Today I start my rotation of days off, and the weather is perfect! Today it is going to be 67 and sunny!

I think I'll cruise around town in my new car with the windows rolled down. Dare I take the removable roof off today??

You can have your 60 degree weather...I'm happier dealing with the -20 wind chill today and living in Ames!

Hotter than Iowa but less humidity. I will take the dry heat.

I agree. Summer can suck but it's about learning to adjust. Get up early to work outside then hit the office for A/C and outdoors again in the late evening. It has been a nice 5-year vacation but I am certainly looking forward to real winters again. And, yes, Iowa>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Texas.

This too. Even though I'm in South Texas, the humidity during the day is much much lower than Iowa. Heat index has never been higher here than Iowa in the summer.

Not arguing but if it is 92 in Iowa with a heat index of 105 but its 105 in Texas with a heat index of 105 does it really matter?

I never really understood people and their "dry heat". When it gets above a certian point I couldnt care less if its the actual temp or the heat index, it doesnt matter its just plain effing hot.

Texas is not a dry heat, unless you are in west Texas.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

    Re: What a Gorgeous Day!!

Don't get me wrong, I love having all four seasons, and we just don't get that down here. I've been hoping for some snow down here, but it isn't looking too likely this year. It is only January, I suppose.

The heat gets pretty bad, especially last year when it was so dry. But that dry heat was tolerable compared to 80% humidity. I'm far enough east though that we do get our fair share of humidity in a normal summer to go along with pretty hot temperatures.
