    Wesley Staten

Whatever happened to this guy? He was supposed to be the next big thing and he doesn't have any major scholarship offers. I'm starting to doubt if the ISU offer still stands. How is he doing in Sioux City?

Yeah. Probably moved back to his home state of whatever. Agreed on the waste of talent. The kid really could have been something in college if he would have applied himself.

Maybe he will go the Tinsley route...

    Re: Wesley Staten

He is not the same talent level as Tinsley though. Tinsley only made it because he had so much talent.

Exactly. Staten was a good talent, but not one you bend over backwards to try and get qualified. Tinsley was a Rucker Park legend, and was considered quite possibly the most gifte PG to come out of NYC, which is a ridiculous statement if it is even partially true. You do everything you can to bring a Tinsley in. A Staten like talent you can find on a player that actually went to class in HS.

    Re: Wesley Staten

Didn't he commit originally to ISU when he was in 8th grade?

Guessing he developed an attitude and then transferred from SC West to SC Heelen which is a private Catholic school. Probably wasn't the best decision.

Sorry guys, I thought the sarcasm was dripping off this comment so heavily that the Jimlad would be redundant.

He can get GED and probably go to JUCO route?

I thought his mom was heavily involved in his recruitment? Apparently she was not very good to keep him qualified.

rumor is he was academically ineligible during last years playoffs. They suspended him for the first half of the season and then he transferred to Nebraska HS

You're starting to doubt? That offer hasn't stood for about 3 years now.

He is good, too bad he couldn't get his stuff together. Highly doubt he ever plays a d1 game now though.

    Re: Wesley Staten

Sorry to resurrect this baby. Did anything every come of Wesley? I thought I heard he went to Missouri State West Plains at one point which is a fairly powerhouse JUCO school. Did he ever make it there?

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?
