K State loses defensive cooridinator Cosh to South Florida

This is a head scratcher, why would someone leave K State to go coach at South Florida and the Big East?

Skip Holtz @CoachHoltzUSF 11h Happy to announce Chris Cosh as new DC. Worked with him for 5 years and love what he brings to the table as a person and coach. GoBulls!!!!

I wonder if they pushed him out to bring Venables (KSU alum) in?

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

Venables is going to Clemson, isn't he.

South Florida, easier recruiting, nice weather, and not the high powered offenses
    that the Big 12 has

My first thought when I heard this was they will be bringing in Jim Leavit as DC Snyder's heir apparent.

Re: K State loses defensive cooridinator Cosh to South Florida

The only coach that Bill Snyder has fired at Kansas State was Carl Pelini as a graduate assistant. Yes, he most likely helped Chris Cosh find meaningful employment. If Jim Leavitt is not hired I fully expect defensive backfield coach Tom Hayes to be named DC. Hayes has been an NFL coordinator and d back coach for several NFL teams, and yes, he was a d coordinator for Terry Allen at KU. However, if appears that Matt Wallerstadt, ex KSU linebacker and Air Force d coordinator has applied and interviewed for the position today
