    Anthony Bordain

The more I watch this guy, the more I think he rocks. No Reservations and Layover are great TV shows. I just went to the libary and got the book that started it all "Kitchen Confidential Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly. Really good read so far and have had trouble putting it down.

He's a little over the top and certainly has an alcohol problem, but what a sense of humor.

It seems like he lives a life anybody would want to if they had no filter, no worries, and unlimited money... He is DEFINTELY a gifted wordsmith and it really helps to feel like you are right there with him.

Met him in LAX one time. He was a jerk to everyone asking for autographs so he's left kind of a sour taste in my mouth. I'm sure it gets old for him, but that's the life he's chosen for himself. Deal with it.

4-5 years ago I got sick on vacation. As I lay on the couch for couple-three days, I watched a marathon of No Reservations. Later ran out & got his book, & have watched ever since.

Love AB.... I loved the Jamaica episode since we can relate to a lot of the things he saw and said. Really like to see foods from local cultures and no just things the tourists see.

One thing that I love is that he comes from a background of being a chef. He has sampled the "best foods" of the world and yet gushes over a damn hotdog from a street vendor.

    Yep (to both thoughts)!

I like his shows and the ideas behind them, but I can pretty much guarantee that if I knew him personally I wouldn't be able to stand him.

I think his bark is worse than his bite. He is from New York!

I think he's a guy who really doesn't care if he pleases anybody other than when he's cooking for them.

    Re: Anthony Bordain

I love that guy. Tells it like it is and it's great because he NEVER expected to get famous or anything because of his original book (Kitchen Confidential). He is a great wordsmith IMO and interesting fact I didn't know until a few days ago - He went to Vassar for a few years, which is one of the most selective schools in the US. He "dropped out" and decided to go to the Culinary Institute of America instead after being a cook for a few summers, realizing his love of food.

Well, if he gets it a lot, it makes sense. Imagine being on vacation or going to work, and nobody will leave you the **** alone. Wouldn't that make you a jerk too? It's annoying after awhile.

People who ask for autographs in an airport should be hanged.
